Job description
Role Overview
The Assistant Store Manager plays a crucial role in supporting the Store Manager in managing daily retail operations, ensuring an excellent customer experience, and driving sales targets. This position assumes the responsibilities of Manager on Duty when the Store Manager is not available.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with operational management and supervise staff activities to ensure effective store functioning.
- Support merchandising efforts by stocking shelves and managing the receipt and unpacking of shipments.
- Deliver outstanding customer service and address any escalated concerns or complaints professionally.
- Provide training, coaching, and development opportunities for store employees to enhance performance.
- Execute cash handling procedures, and perform store opening and closing duties as necessary.
- Delegate daily tasks to team members while maintaining store safety and cleanliness standards.
- Perform regular performance reviews and offer constructive feedback to improve team outcomes.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, operational procedures, and safety regulations.
- Maintain high visual merchandising standards to enhance store appearance.
- Oversee recruitment processes and manage employee performance standards.
Candidate Requirements
- A minimum of two years of retail experience is required.
- At least two years of supervisory or management experience within retail settings.
- Availability to work varied schedules including days, evenings, and weekends.
- Strong leadership qualities backed by excellent communication and decision-making capabilities.
- Proven ability to multitask and prioritize effectively in a fast-moving work environment.
