Job Responsibilities
- Oversee comprehensive fire and life safety compliance within the hotel aligned to NFPA codes, local legislation, and in-house safety policies.
- Perform daily site inspections to promptly detect and rectify unsafe conditions, fire hazards, or hazardous practices among staff.
- Regularly maintain and audit all fire protection and safety installations such as fire hydrants, hose reels, extinguishers, alarms, and emergency devices.
- Conduct periodic testing of fire safety and emergency equipment ensuring accurate logging and maintenance records.
- Verify operational readiness of backup power generators, emergency lighting, exits, and escape pathways.
- Inspect electrical systems including wiring, heaters, and equipment to mitigate fire risks.
- Implement fire and safety procedures for hotel events, functions, and special occasions.
- Lead routine fire drills, safety briefings, and employee training sessions to foster a proactive safety culture.
- Report identified hazards and corrective actions to department heads and Chief Engineer, ensuring follow-up until resolved.
- Maintain detailed safety documentation, inspection results, and incident reports while upholding a professional and positive attitude.
Qualifications
The role demands comprehensive knowledge and strict adherence to fire safety codes such as NFPA, local regulations, and company policy. Daily vigilance in identifying hazards and unsafe practices, expertise in ensuring operational integrity of fire safety equipment, and capability to conduct trainings and emergency preparedness drills are essential. Strong interpersonal skills for coordination with various departments and maintaining accurate records are required.
