About Swami Vivekananda Institute of Science and Technology
Established in 2008 in Kolkata, our institute is a pioneer in higher education offering a wide range of programs including Diploma Engineering, MBA, BBA, BCA, B.Tech, BHM, M.Tech, and various Science disciplines, with multiple affiliated colleges and a newly established university.
Role Overview
We seek enthusiastic academicians and industry experts to join our multidisciplinary engineering faculty as Assistant, Associate, or full Professors. The role emphasizes comprehensive teaching excellence, active research contributions, and strong mentorship aligned with Outcome-Based Education and Industry 5.0 advancements.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver undergraduate and postgraduate courses in your specialized engineering domain following OBE and NEP 2020 guidelines.
- Conduct theoretical lectures, practical labs, tutorials, and project-based learning employing contemporary pedagogical methods.
- Develop curriculum content, course documentation, laboratory manuals, and evaluation tools consistent with NBA/NAAC accreditation requirements.
- Utilize industry-grade software such as MATLAB, AutoCAD, ANSYS, ETAP, Python, TensorFlow, etc., and adopt LMS, virtual labs, and blended learning to augment student engagement.
- Author and publish research in well-regarded indexed journals and conferences, supervise B.Tech and M.Tech projects and dissertations, and pursue funded research from agencies like DST, AICTE, SERB, DRDO, and industry.
- Engage in patent filing, prototype design, consultancy projects, and interdisciplinary research efforts spanning engineering and applied sciences.
- Guide and mentor students for career placements, national exams (GATE, GRE), public sector employment, entrepreneurship, and advanced studies.
- Lead technical societies and student interest groups including SAE, ISTE, IEEE, and organize hackathons and competitions.
- Facilitate industrial internships, live projects, and site visits to enhance practical exposure.
- Contribute to academic quality assurance through NBA, NAAC, and NIRF accreditation activities, including documentation and committee participation.
- Conduct faculty development programs, short-term training, workshops, seminars, and industry engagement sessions.
- Participate actively in Board of Studies and curriculum development, lab infrastructure enhancement, and departmental outreach and branding initiatives.
Domain Specific Expertise Required
- Civil Engineering: Knowledge of Structural, Geotechnical, Transportation, Environmental Engineering, Construction Management, along with software tools such as BIM, STAAD Pro, ETABS, AutoCAD, Revit, and Total Station.
- Electronics & Communication Engineering: Competence in VLSI, Embedded Systems, IoT, Signal Processing, 5G/6G, Wireless Networks, and experience with Xilinx, Cadence, Arduino, Raspberry Pi, HFSS.
- AI and Data Science, Computer Science Engineering: Proficiency in Data Structures and Algorithms, Machine Learning, Deep Learning, Big Data, Natural Language Processing, Computer Vision, Generative AI, MLOps, and tools such as Python, TensorFlow, PyTorch, AWS, Power BI, and SQL.
