Job description
Position Overview
The Asset Protection Associate is integral in maintaining a secure, safe, and professional atmosphere within the store for customers, staff, visitors, and suppliers. By adhering to Asset Protection protocols and exhibiting professional conduct, this position aims to minimize financial and physical losses, curtail shrinkage, and promote store profitability. Awareness, vigilant observation, and cooperative teamwork are crucial in safeguarding personnel, goods, and the customer shopping experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform regular store patrols daily to ensure security measures are effective and functional, including checking doors, showcases, and security devices, and addressing any issues promptly.
- Conduct investigations into cases of shrinkage and report findings to store leadership, escalating internal matters to the Market Loss Prevention Manager as per company standards.
- Assist or lead inquiries into instances of internal theft, external shoplifting, organized retail crime, and ethical breaches designated by Walmart Canada Global Ethics.
- Provide support during emergencies by assisting with evacuations and participating in relevant store safety procedures and task teams.
- Implement external apprehensions when necessary, adhering strictly to legal and company policies.
- Collect and relay information from various sources, effectively communicating observations and investigative results to management and other relevant parties.
- Complete additional duties aligned with the evolving needs of the business and Asset Protection goals.
- Maintain flexibility in work schedule including availability for shifts during evenings, weekends, and holidays to ensure operational continuity.

- Effectively handle high volumes of tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Manage overnight work hours efficiently to remain alert and focused.
- Complete restocking and recovery tasks with accuracy under time constraints.
- Meet physical demands such as prolonged standing, bending, and lifting items weighing up to 20 lbs regularly, and occasionally up to 50 lbs.
- Perform repetitive stock and organization duties while maintaining detail orientation and consistency.

Compensation and Location
The starting pay rate for this role is $17.75 per hour. This position is based at UNIT 400-6900 46TH ST, OLDS, AB T4H 0A2, Canada.
Qualifications
- Minimum age requirement: 16 years or older.
- Must hold a valid Security Guard License.
