Application Responsible

Position Overview

The role entails comprehensive responsibility for a corporate application platform, acting as a principal technical contributor alongside the Application Responsible (AR) and in partnership with the Product Owner (PO). This position operates within a secure and regulated banking framework, focusing on advancing the enterprise software by embracing robust development, architectural refinement, and diligent operational management.

Core Duties

• Serve as the chief technical liaison for designated applications, overseeing development, implementation of changes, incident management, and coordination with stakeholders.
• Assess and enhance the application architecture to simplify structures, boost performance, and diminish reliance on external systems, facilitating expedited delivery and minimized operational risks.
• Identify opportunities to internalize ancillary components and interfaces to broaden team control and speed up market delivery.
• Collaborate with internal teams and external vendors to harmonize project plans with roadmap objectives and regulatory requirements.
• Continuously oversee and elevate service metrics, including availability, response times, capacity, and documentation quality.
• Support risk management activities such as access audits, compliance reviews, vulnerability fixes, and annual risk assessments.
• Monitor technical debt, prioritizing resolution based on business relevance, compliance constraints, and development resources.
• Ensure adherence of application designs to organizational architectural standards in conjunction with system architects and leads.
• Contribute to and maintain project methodologies and audit procedures.
• Promote early-stage testing practices with unit and automated tests, as well as adherence to CI/CD and code quality standards.
• Advise on and advance the technical roadmap of the applications under management.
• Manage complete application lifecycles, including deployment, maintenance, and retirement phases.
• Provide guidance to product owners and teams on technical risks and appropriate risk mitigation strategies.

Required Qualifications and Skills

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or fields closely related.
• Demonstrated experience in roles akin to Application Responsible, including end-to-end system ownership, incident and change management, and working closely with business and governance units.
• Solid knowledge of solution architecture fundamentals like system context diagrams, integration strategies, and modular design principles.
• Strong troubleshooting skills to resolve complex technical challenges effectively and independently.
• Experience with Agile frameworks such as Scrum or Kanban, and DevOps tooling including Git version control, CI/CD processes, automated builds, and release handling; certifications in Agile are advantageous.
• Background in the banking or wealth management sector is highly desirable, particularly with exposure to governance, compliance, and entity management.
• Knowledge or hands-on involvement in the development and maintenance of native mobile applications for iOS and Android, including understanding of platform-specific security and best practices.
