Role Overview

This permanent full-time position based in Wellington involves designing and implementing capability solutions to strengthen New Zealand's food safety system. You will develop educational tools and resources by collaborating with subject matter experts and stakeholders to translate complex regulatory information into accessible, engaging learning content.

Key Responsibilities

• Create tools and learning resources that enhance regulatory capability.
• Design interactive and e-learning programs tailored to adult learners.
• Engage and collaborate with verifiers, subject matter experts, and various stakeholders.
• Utilize Learning Management Systems and digital content creation platforms effectively.
• Support and coordinate projects aimed at improving food safety outcomes.
• Manage ongoing programs such as the Food Act Verifier continuing professional development.

Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate is passionate about learning and development, able to simplify complex information, and skilled in stakeholder collaboration. Experience in capability building within regulated or complex environments is important. Strong organization and adaptability are essential to handle multiple priorities and deliver quality work promptly. Interest or background in the primary sector or food safety will be advantageous.

Essential Qualifications and Experience

• Experience in adult learning or developing capability.
• Strong skills in stakeholder engagement and partnership building.
• Proficiency in breaking down complex or technical content into clear communication.
• Experience with Learning Management Systems and digital learning technologies.
• Previous roles in public or private sectors.

Team and Organisation

You will join a collaborative Capability team within Food Risk Management at New Zealand Food Safety, working closely with stakeholders across the Ministry and wider industry to deliver impactful initiatives. MPI partners with the country's food and fibre sectors to be a globally trusted provider.
