Overview
Join Trócaire as a part-time Accounts Assistant, playing a crucial role within the Finance Department. This position involves managing bank reconciliations and handling various routine financial responsibilities, interacting daily with colleagues both within Ireland and internationally. You will help maintain key internal controls and collaborate closely with a supportive team focused on achieving meaningful outcomes.

Key Responsibilities
- Undertake bank reconciliations and daily financial transactions.
- Support the Finance Department with accounts payable activities and ensure accuracy in all duties.
- Maintain and implement key internal control processes as part of the global finance team.
- Liaise effectively with different departments in Ireland and overseas to facilitate financial operations.
Candidate Requirements
- A minimum of two years’ experience in an accounts assistant role, including familiarity with accounts payable, bank reconciliations, and accounting software usage.
- Strong organisational skills, attention to detail, and ability to meet deadlines efficiently.
- Proficiency in ICT and good communication capabilities coupled with a strong customer service mindset.
- A collaborative team player who takes initiative in problem-solving and relates well with diverse colleagues.
- Interest in and empathy towards Trócaire’s mission and values.
- Accounting Technician certification or business/accounting qualification is beneficial but not mandatory.
Employment Details
This fixed-term contract role is offered on a part-time basis, requiring 25 hours per week, located in Maynooth, County Kildare, Ireland. The role reports directly to the General Ledger Accountant. The application deadline is 14th August 2026.
