About Bukedi Cultural Kingdom

Role Overview

The Accountant role entails managing the daily financial activities, which includes documenting transactions, ensuring accurate ledger maintenance, and compiling regular financial reports. Key duties consist of handling accounts payable and receivable, bank statement reconciliations, assisting in budget formulation, and overseeing expenditure adherence to internal policies and regulatory requirements. Additional responsibilities include preparing audit documentation, supporting financial planning for cultural initiatives, and coordinating with various departments on financial issues. This position is full-time and requires physical presence at the Bukedi Cultural Kingdom office in Kampala to engage effectively with internal and external parties.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Expertise in financial accounting, bookkeeping, and ledger management.
  • Experience with budgeting processes, financial reporting, and managing cash flow.
  • Proficiency in using accounting software and spreadsheet tools with a focus on precision.
  • Familiarity with financial legislation, internal control systems, and audit preparations.
  • Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving capability, and numerical aptitude.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, capable of conveying financial data clearly.
  • Ability to perform on-site duties in Kampala, handle several assignments simultaneously, and meet deadlines with minimal supervision.
  • Possession of a diploma or degree in Accounting, Finance, or related disciplines; CPA or similar certification is advantageous.
  • Work experience in cultural institutions, non-profit organizations, or public sector entities is preferred.
  • Proven dedication to ethical standards, confidentiality, and service focused on community benefit.
