Role Overview
The Account Development Executive will be responsible for amplifying revenue, product volume, and trading contributions within assigned outlets across their designated territory in Ireland. The role focuses on account growth through consultative selling, fostering customer relationships, ensuring product availability, distribution logistics, and high-quality in-store merchandising to meet and exceed standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Achieve or surpass regional targets in revenue, volume, trading contribution, and market share broken down by brand, channel, and packaging.
- Increase product presence and maintain target availability of at least 90% through improved distribution and shelf space management.
- Apply consultative sales techniques leveraging the "Sell-Out" toolkit when engaging with current and prospective customers.
- Create additional display units exceeding plan expectations to bolster profitability.
- Support and expand clientele by coordinating with sales support functions to optimize service quality, business performance, and customer satisfaction.
- Ensure timely cash collections consistent with company goals.
- Maintain superior standards of in-store execution including proper displays, planogram compliance, product stocking, fronting, and cooler maintenance.
- Promote secondary store selling to broaden market penetration.
- Develop and deliver tailored presentations for key customers.
- Utilize IT systems for comprehensive outlet reporting to enhance business decision-making.
- Reduce or control free samples and discount offerings to align with budget while maximizing customer outcomes.
- Manage expenses within the territory to support budgetary controls.
- Optimize sales call schedules and volume for efficiency.
- Coordinate promotional implementations, securing store manager support for placements and signage ahead of launch.
Qualifications and Experience
- Minimum of three years of sales experience within the fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) sector.
- Solid understanding of the beverage industry, including products, distribution channels, and competitors.
- Excellent communication abilities and strong relationship building skills.
- Competence in numerical analysis and proficient in computer usage.
- Proven capability in negotiation skills.
- Self-motivated with teamwork spirit, initiative, and drive.
Essential Behaviors and Performance Indicators
- Consistent revenue and volume growth within assigned territory.
- Effective management of trading contributions and budget adherence including cost and credit controls.
- Timely order processing and new product introductions.
- Achievement of in-store performance goals including display targets and chilled space management.
- Ensure core and seed products’ availability and distribution align with company targets.
- Deliver incremental activities such as "Food to Go" initiatives.
- Report customer insights and market data accurately.
- Retention and acquisition of customer accounts.
- Effective utilization of IT systems and sales tools to optimize operations.
Additional Information
- A full clean driving license is mandatory for this role.
- A third-level qualification in Business or a related area is preferred, although candidates with a leaving certificate or equivalent may be considered depending on experience.
