Position Overview
As an Industrial Maintenance Technician II working the 3rd shift, you will be key in maintaining peak operational efficiency by performing scheduled and unscheduled maintenance. Prioritizing safety and quality, you will use your mechanical aptitude across multiple areas of the bakery, with job responsibilities rotating as needed. The role demands ongoing training to keep pace with advancing technologies and performance standards.
Responsibilities
- Consistently practice safe work behaviors, select proper tools, apply standard shop and maintenance procedures, and have comprehensive knowledge of critical equipment components and operational sequences.
- Apply skills in electrical welding, gas welding, cutting, soldering, pipe fitting, and metal fabrication including milling and lathe work.
- Inspect and identify issues in mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
- Rebuild mechanical drive parts such as clutches and brakes.
- Ensure accurate mechanical timing and perform proper lubrication and preventative maintenance on designated equipment.
- Troubleshoot, replace, and repair mechanical drive and conveyor components showing wear.
- Utilize SAP software for part checkouts, reporting, and data management.
- Adhere to environmental and maintenance program protocols, maintain a clean and safe work environment, and comply with all company policies including EEO, harassment, safety, and Sarbanes-Oxley regulations.
- Fulfill work schedules, maintain attendance, and perform other duties as assigned by management.
- Obtain or maintain necessary licenses for working with boilers, refrigeration, and other equipment as required by regulatory agencies.
Basic Requirements
- Physically able to move swiftly around the plant, climb fixed and portable ladders up to 20 feet, crawl under and climb onto machinery, and enter confined spaces.
- Capable of carrying and using tools, carrying tool pouches up to 15 pounds, lifting up to 50 pounds to a height of 48 inches, and having manual dexterity for wiring, welding, and documentation.
- High school diploma or GED plus at least 2 years of vocational or technical training or equivalent experience in electronic/electrical technologies and machine maintenance.
Preferred Qualifications
- Three or more years of experience as a Maintenance Technician or relevant formal training.
- Skills in electronics, electrical repairs, industrial equipment installation, alignment, start-up repairs, parts fabrication, welding, and HVAC are advantageous.
Compensation and Benefits
The position offers a wage range between $27.75 and $28.96 per hour.
