In this role, you will translate detailed payroll needs into scalable Workday setups, help improve payroll operations, and support clients in getting the most value from their Workday platform. You will work in a fast-moving, remote-first setting and partner with both business and technical stakeholders to deliver strong outcomes. The role suits someone who works well independently, enjoys complex analysis, and takes ownership of client success.
Key accountabilities
- Run discovery discussions to turn intricate payroll needs into practical Workday Payroll configurations.
- Design, set up, and refine Workday Payroll solutions so they match each client’s business requirements.
- Create and maintain calculated fields, reports, dashboards, and payroll analytics that improve accuracy and visibility.
- Spot process or system gaps and introduce enhancements that strengthen payroll processing and day-to-day performance.
- Act as a payroll subject matter expert across multiple implementation and support engagements.
- Investigate payroll issues, determine the underlying cause, and implement long-term fixes.
- Juggle several active projects while staying organized, client-focused, and self-directed in communication.
- Share proven practices and help clients adapt to new Workday Payroll capabilities and product updates.
Requirements
- At least 2 years of practical Workday Payroll experience, including implementation and/or AMS support.
- Solid understanding of Workday Payroll configuration, payroll workflows, and reporting tools.
- Hands-on experience creating calculated fields, advanced reports, and dashboards in Workday.
- Strong analytical thinking and troubleshooting ability, with a careful and methodical approach.
- Advanced Excel proficiency and comfort working with complex datasets.
- Clear communication skills, including the ability to explain technical ideas to non-technical audiences.
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced remote consulting environment.
- Strong sense of accountability and a proactive mindset for identifying and resolving issues.
- Consulting or multi-client experience is considered an advantage.
Benefits and workplace highlights
- Pay aligned with experience and market standards.
- Performance-linked incentives and variable compensation opportunities.
- A full health and wellness benefits package.
- Flexible remote-first working setup.
- Opportunity to work with global clients and complex Workday programs.
- Ongoing learning and development within the Workday ecosystem.
- An inclusive, equitable culture focused on growth.
- A chance to help shape payroll best practices and transformation efforts.
