Job description
Role overview
This position is for an experienced Workday HCM Functional Consultant who enjoys working on complex, large-scale Workday transformation initiatives in Australia. The role sits within a fast-growing consulting environment and is suited to someone who performs well in a demanding, high-performance setting.
About the team
Deloitte’s Workday capability is among the largest in the market, with extensive practitioner depth, implementation experience and client certifications. Supported by both steady organic growth and acquisitions, the practice is expanding rapidly to meet strong demand across the Asia-Pacific region.
The opportunity
The HR Transformation team is looking for a seasoned Workday HCM Functional Consultant with expertise in one or more of the following areas: Core HCM, Recruitment, Compensation, Absence, Time Tracking, Talent & Performance, Security, or Learning. The role involves contributing to consulting engagements and delivering functional outcomes across a range of industries.
What you’ll need
To be successful in this role, you should bring Workday Core HCM certification, at least two end-to-end Workday implementation lifecycles, and experience across all project stages from design through deployment. Hands-on functional configuration experience in at least one Workday module is essential, along with confidence using Excel, Visio and PowerPoint.
What you’ll be doing
In this role, you will work closely with clients and subject matter experts to understand business needs, assess current systems, build agreement around future processes, and translate those needs into practical Workday solutions. You will also support application configuration, develop improvement recommendations, and help shape strategies that improve service outcomes and use of business resources.
Additional experience expected
The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of how Core HCM connects with other Workday modules, familiarity with HR functions and established HR practices, the ability to support client decision-making, and strong business analysis and requirements gathering capability.
