About Central Plateau Cleanup Company (CPCCo)

Located in Richland, Washington, CPCCo is dedicated to safeguarding the Columbia River and remediating the Central Plateau by managing some of the Department of Energy's most hazardous waste sites at the Hanford Site. Position Overview

The Work Control Planner role involves supporting the Waste Projects & Operations team by planning, coordinating, and developing clear work instructions and packages for low-risk nuclear facility activities, maintenance, construction, and surveillance operations. This role demands proactive engagement with field personnel and subject matter experts to ensure safe and efficient task execution.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct walk-down assessments alongside bargaining unit employees, field supervisors, and SMEs to develop detailed work instructions for low-risk activities.
  • Create and compile work packages for field operations that are classified as low risk.
  • Lead and facilitate hazard analysis and planning sessions to ensure safety and compliance.
  • Support facility modification initiatives and design change efforts, including troubleshooting as required.
  • Provide accurate information for material procurement and assist in tracking and controlling work packages.
  • Coordinate inputs from craftspeople and SMEs across multiple organizations and resolve planning challenges to ensure smooth workflow completion.

Qualification Requirements

  • Intermediate Grade 15: Bachelor's degree or equivalent education and experience, with a minimum of 3 years relevant experience.
  • Career Level Grade 16: Bachelor's degree or equivalent with at least 5 years of relevant professional experience.
  • The specific employment level will depend on the candidate's qualifications and CPCCo's operational needs.

Desired Skills and Experience

  • Familiarity with Computer Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) and proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Demonstrated experience in creating technical work documentation.
  • Background in construction industry disciplines such as planning, scheduling, or procurement.

Compensation and Benefits

  • Estimated annual salary range for Intermediate Grade 15: $81,500 to $114,100.
  • Estimated annual salary range for Career Level Grade 16: $81,500 to $125,250.
  • Possibility of additional variable pay awards.
  • Comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, 401(k) contributions, and paid time off.
  • Work environment encourages casual dress, including jeans.
  • Standard 4-day 10-hour workweek schedule allowing for extended weekends and access to regional recreational opportunities (fishing, hunting, hiking, snowboarding, wine tours, golf, etc.).
