Warehouse Supervisor

About the Role

Our client, a prominent packaging solutions provider situated in Limerick, is actively seeking a dedicated Warehouse Supervisor to enhance their operational team. This role is pivotal in overseeing the daily functions of the warehouse, ensuring adherence to high standards in safety protocols, inventory management, materials planning, distribution logistics, and overall team productivity. Responsibilities

• Uphold a secure and healthy work environment, strictly adhering to company policies, established procedures, and all legal mandates.
• Ensure the safe operation of all equipment and machinery, fostering a culture of safety consciousness among warehouse staff.
• Contribute to material scheduling, encompassing planning, procurement, and delivery coordination.
• Supervise the handling, storage, and accurate recording of products.
• Manage inventory control processes and maintain precise stock levels through regular reconciliation with the inventory management system.
• Orchestrate incoming and outgoing distribution activities to ensure efficiency and punctuality.
• Provide support to broader business functions, including production, as needed.
• Develop and implement warehouse strategies aimed at boosting operational efficiency, optimizing storage, enhancing inventory control, minimizing waste, and eliminating stock discrepancies.
• Oversee daily warehouse operations, clearly communicating objectives, targets, and operational necessities to the team.
• Lead, motivate, and support warehouse personnel to achieve set performance benchmarks.
• Identify individual and team training and development requirements, fostering the professional growth of assigned staff.
• Promote best practices throughout warehouse operations, aligning with overarching company objectives.
• Assist the Warehouse Manager with key tasks, projects, processes, and procedures as directed.
• Engage in site-wide Operational Excellence initiatives, such as 6S implementation, risk assessments, audits, and inspections.
• Liaise effectively with suppliers, transportation partners, and internal departments to facilitate smooth warehouse operations.
• Undertake any other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements

• Essential experience in a warehouse operational setting.
• Prior supervisory experience is highly advantageous.
• Proficiency in computer applications; familiarity with SAP is a plus.
• Demonstrated strong leadership and organizational capabilities.
• Possess analytical and numerical acumen with robust problem-solving skills.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities, enabling effective collaboration with diverse stakeholders.
• Capacity to articulate findings and propose recommendations to the broader organization.
• Hold a valid, clean driver's license.
• A license for relevant mechanical lifting equipment is desirable.
