About The Role

Open Country Dairy Ltd is seeking dependable and safety-conscious Warehouse Operators to join their night shift team at the East Tamaki facility in Auckland. This role is hands-on, ideal for individuals who value accuracy, thrive in fast-paced settings, and enjoy collaborating within a team to ensure products are handled safely and efficiently.

Key Responsibilities

  • Receiving various goods including finished products, transferred stock, purchased items, and imports.
  • Operating forklifts and push/pull equipment to unload, load, stack, move, and organize inventory.
  • Picking, preparing, and dispatching goods for both domestic and export shipments.
  • Performing scanning and documentation duties to maintain precise stock records.
  • Supporting production by selecting and loading necessary materials and ingredients.
  • Participating in stock counts, cycle counts, pallet repairs, procedural reviews, and general warehouse operations as needed.

Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate will be reliable, practical, and confident within warehouse environments where precision and safety are paramount. This includes comfort working in typical cold storage conditions related to ice cream production, alongside the ability to handle repetitive manual tasks throughout the shift.

Required Qualifications and Skills

  • Valid forklift license.
  • Experience in general warehousing, preferably within a similar industry.
  • Meticulous attention to detail with a dedication to accurate inventory tracking.
  • Dependability, accountability, and a strong work ethic.
  • Team-oriented mindset and readiness to support other departments when needed.

Relevant Skills

  • Expertise in forklift operation involving safe loading, unloading, stacking, and product transit.
  • Proficiency in warehouse receiving, dispatching, stock movements, and inventory management.
  • Competence with RF scanning technology and accurate paperwork handling.
  • Understanding of workplace safety, hazard recognition, and food hygiene standards.
  • Strong time management skills to prioritize tasks and meet delivery deadlines.

Additional Advantages

  • Experience using forklift attachments such as push/pull units.
  • Basic computer literacy.
  • Fundamental math, record-keeping, and written communication abilities.
