Role Overview

The Warehouse Operative will support the Warehouse Manager with day-to-day warehouse activities. This position is focused on moving stock efficiently, keeping inventory records accurate, and helping the warehouse meet its performance targets.

Key Responsibilities

• Accept incoming deliveries and complete the put-away process correctly.
• Pick items, pack orders, and get shipments ready for dispatch.
• Carry out regular cycle counts and support inventory control.
• Manage shipments through air, road, courier, and international freight channels.
• Process returns and ensure the related paperwork is completed properly.
• Keep the warehouse tidy, safe, and well organized.
• Follow all health, safety, and company operating standards.
• Check stock on a routine basis and flag any mismatches.
• Look into inventory differences and assist with corrective measures.
• Maintain accurate entries and stock records in the Warehouse Management System.
• Support and train new as well as existing team members where needed.
• Help maintain quality across warehouse activities and storage areas.
• Organize tasks efficiently to meet deadlines and operational goals.
• Work with other departments to ensure smooth internal coordination.
• Take on other duties as required by the business.

Experience and Skills

This role suits someone with a warehouse or logistics background who can stay organized in a busy environment, communicate clearly, and work confidently with systems and basic office software.

Additional Requirements

• A minimum of 2 years of experience in a warehouse or logistics position is preferred.
• Experience using warehouse systems or related technology will be an advantage.
• Knowledge of international freight is beneficial.
• Comfortable working under pressure in a fast-moving environment.
• Strong planning, organization, and time management abilities.
• Analytical problem-solving approach with initiative.
• Positive attitude and willingness to learn.
• Dependable, punctual, professional, and able to keep good time.
• Flexible with working hours.
• Clear spoken and written English communication skills.
• High attention to detail and a strong focus on accuracy.
• Capable of working independently and taking initiative.
• Confident using computers and Microsoft Office tools.
