Role Overview
We are currently looking to fill one full-time Warehouse Driver position at our Townsville, Queensland warehouse and distribution center.
Key Responsibilities
- Safely and efficiently pick up various goods—from textile bags to bulky furniture—from donor homes, workplaces, and other assigned locations following established guidelines.
- Deliver collected goods to stores and warehouse locations as directed in a timely and professional manner.
- Collect rubbish and other items from stores and warehouses and transport them to designated landfill, recycling centers, or other specified locations responsibly.
- Assist in loading and unloading trucks and containers as needed.
- Accurately prepare, complete, and communicate all required documentation and run/job booking data following procedural standards.
- Take proper care of Salvation Army assets including company vehicles, iPads, and other equipment.
- Utilize provided technology and procedures to optimize route efficiency, update job statuses, log donor refusals, and report other issues per guidelines.
Candidate Profile
- Proven experience driving medium rigid or similar vehicles.
- Strong verbal communication skills with the ability to engage effectively with diverse individuals.
- Customer-facing experience is highly valued.
- Experience in furniture removal or related fields is preferred.
- Possession of a relevant medium rigid vehicle driving license.
- Forklift operation certification (counterbalance forklift) is desirable.
