Role overview
This permanent full-time position is for a Warehouse Administrator based in Derby, DE21 7HW. The role begins on standard day shifts, Monday to Friday, during office hours. From 1 September, the schedule changes to either weekly rotating shifts of 06:00-14:00 and 14:00-22:00, or a fixed 22:00-06:00 pattern, with one weekend day included each week.
The post sits within a brand-new site with modern facilities. It will initially support the Super User team with the testing and rollout of a new Warehouse Management System (WMS). After the testing and training phase is finished, the position will move into a warehouse administration focus.
What the role involves
- Helping run user acceptance testing by preparing WMS test scenarios, completing scripts, logging outcomes, and repeating tests where needed.
- Training colleagues and providing day-to-day help with WMS processes, while serving as the first contact for system questions.
- Supporting goods-in, goods-out, and inventory activities by keeping system records accurate and following warehouse procedures.
- Handling general warehouse questions and phone calls in a courteous and professional way.
- Working alongside other departments to improve efficiency and promote good working practices.
Experience and skills needed
Applicants should have previous background in warehouse work or stock administration. Hands-on experience with Warehouse Management Systems is essential. Strong confidence with IT tools, especially Microsoft Office, is also required, along with clear communication skills and the ability to work well with key stakeholders.
Working conditions and contract details
Pay is £26,000 on a permanent full-time contract at Grade RCS O. The role is based onsite in Derby and includes free parking, an on-site canteen, and good transport connections.
