About the role

This opportunity is for an SAP Cloud Platform Integration Consultant at Tata Consultancy Services in Chennai. The position focuses on supporting, designing, and improving SAP integration solutions, with a strong emphasis on SAP CPI, interface development, troubleshooting, and business-facing technical support.

Key responsibilities

• Handle incident resolution and change requests while keeping the SAP CPI module stable and maintained.
• Work within SLA commitments, prioritize urgent tickets, and communicate status updates clearly to support timely resolution.
• Build inbound and outbound integrations between cloud and on-premise SAP environments.
• Configure and extend standard iFlows, and create custom iFlows where required.
• Design local subprocesses, exception subprocesses, and exception-handling logic.
• Use SAP CPI adapters such as SFSF, ODATA, SFTP, IDOC, SOAP, HTTP, Process Direct, and REST for message exchange.
• Create and apply value mappings, Groovy scripts, and data transformations within iFlows.
• Handle conversions such as JSON to XML and CSV to XML.
• Use CPI palette features including integration patterns, message transformations, enricher, splitter, and related tools in SAP BTP.
• Manage security artifacts, encryption/decryption methods, and SSH keys.
• Support EDI integrations and API management activities.
• Design interfaces and integration flows that align with business needs.
• Work with SAP Cloud Platform Integration, SAP HANA Cloud Integration, and SAP Process Orchestration.
• Use SAP Cloud Connector and the CPI cockpit for integration operations.
• Provide technical support and troubleshooting for applications built on SAP CPI.
• Prepare test data, execute tests, and create/run test scripts.
• Monitor performance, identify improvement areas, and recommend enhancements.
• Create user training materials and deliver training sessions for business users.
• Act as a liaison between business teams and technical teams, and mentor junior colleagues.

Requirements

• A bachelor’s degree is required; candidates should also have completed a university degree.
• At least 5 years of experience in designing, developing, supporting, and implementing integration flows using SAP CPI.
• Hands-on experience with SAP CPI iFlows and APIM from a functional configuration and design perspective.
• Ability to proactively identify process or system improvements and propose practical enhancements.
• Strong client management skills and clear communication with business and technical stakeholders.
• Capability to provide workable solutions to business users for reported issues.
• Knowledge of interfaces and cross-module interactions.
• Excellent business communication skills.
• Strong debugging and reverse-engineering ability.
• Good cooperation skills and the ability to work across capabilities with internal and external consultants.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical thinking.
