Role Overview

A steward, also known as a waiter, is vital within the hospitality sector, tasked with maintaining cleanliness, aiding in food service, and delivering exceptional guest experiences.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain the tidiness and order of dining rooms, kitchens, and service areas, including dishwashing, floor cleaning, and sanitizing equipment.
• Support wait staff by replenishing supplies, clearing tables, and preparing seating areas for new patrons.
• Welcome guests, serve beverages, and ensure a positive dining atmosphere by promptly addressing customer needs.
• Assist in managing inventory by monitoring supplies, handling deliveries, and keeping cleaning and kitchen materials sufficiently stocked.
• Perform basic administrative functions such as answering calls, managing reservations, and providing customer information when required.

Qualifications and Skills

• Typically requires a high school diploma or equivalent; prior experience in hospitality or food service is preferred.
• Must possess physical endurance to stand for extended periods and undertake physically demanding duties.
• Effective communication skills to interact smoothly with customers and team members.
