Role Summary
The Disney Music Group, part of The Walt Disney Company, manages music commercialization and promotion across recorded music, publishing, and concerts. It distributes music through both physical and digital channels and licenses music worldwide for use across television, print, gaming, and consumer products.
As Vice President of Sales and Digital, you will shape and deliver the business strategy for digital marketing, direct-to-consumer growth, monetization from streaming, downloads, and physical sales, and broader product awareness across digital platforms. This leadership role oversees marketing, sales, and media teams spanning digital and physical channels, while partnering closely across DMG to support overall business goals.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and run account-led programs that grow revenue and support marketing goals.
- Lead digital marketing for artists and brands to strengthen engagement, visibility, demand, and monetization.
- Own social media and audience development efforts.
- Build and expand strategies for user-generated content and fan monetization.
- Develop approaches to scale UGC monetization across social platforms, gaming, and related spaces.
- Guide influencer, creator, and ambassador marketing initiatives.
- Manage key digital business relationships with partners such as Amazon, Spotify, Apple, YouTube, Vevo, and Meta, while tracking new accounts and usage patterns.
- Oversee physical sales efforts, including retail promotion, merchandising, positioning, and placement.
- Identify and launch new business models, product ideas, and geographic opportunities in both physical and digital markets.
- Champion the ethical, effective, and responsible use of AI in team and business practices.
- Develop strategies to maximize catalog performance and direct-to-consumer growth.
- Own CRM strategy for DMG.
- Oversee web development needs, asset creation, and privacy/legal compliance related to those efforts.
- Forecast, track, and assess financial performance across departmental programs.
- Provide guidance on digital unit and revenue forecasting.
- Provide physical unit projections and supply chain guidance.
- Shape digital commerce and marketing strategy.
- Monitor emerging technologies, platforms, and consumer trends for new opportunities.
- Use data extensively to improve revenue outcomes and business decisions.
- Maintain strong relationships with distribution and licensing partners to increase team effectiveness.
- Build partnerships across other Disney segments to unlock new opportunities and revenue.
- Direct global partner activity while preserving local market flexibility within a coordinated worldwide strategy.
- Collaborate with internal DMG marketing leaders on advertising, media planning, and creative execution to support key priorities.
- Lead a team of 10 to 15 employees, strengthening collaboration, cohesion, efficiency, and individual development.
Required Experience and Qualifications
- At least 12 years of experience in sales and digital roles.
- Minimum 5 years of experience managing a large, multi-layered team.
- Strong command of emerging technologies, platforms, and digital services.
- Deep understanding of online consumer behavior and usage trends.
- Hands-on experience managing online communities.
- Ability to use analytical thinking to design effective strategic programs.
- Strong knowledge of direct-to-consumer marketing and promotions, including testing, reporting, acquisition, retention, and engagement.
- Excellent project management skills and the ability to handle multiple priorities at once.
- Background in account management.
- Proven success leading teams in a fast-moving, entrepreneurial setting.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to secure cooperation from external partners, vendors, agencies, and internal stakeholders.
- Music industry experience is preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Preferred experience leading large layered organizations with 8 or more direct and indirect reports.
Compensation and Benefits
The hiring range for this role in Burbank, CA is USD 194,700 to 261,100 per year. Final base pay may vary based on internal equity, geographic location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be included, along with medical, financial, and other benefits depending on the level and position offered.

This role leads a team of 10 to 15 employees and is expected to build unity, collaboration, efficiency, and professional growth across the group.
