Job description

About the Role

RH is built around a strong point of view on design and the belief that taste can be scaled in a meaningful way. The brand brings together designers, artisans, manufacturers, and other creative talent to create an elevated collection of luxury home furnishings. Its broader vision goes beyond selling products, aiming to create complete spaces and a connected ecosystem of products, places, and services that strengthen its position as a global leader in design and taste.

RH also places great importance on hiring people who bring energy, creativity, conviction, and a collaborative mindset. The environment values individuals who approach challenges with solutions, are persistent in pursuing results, and work well as part of a team.

The Vice President of Merchandising is responsible for guiding several assigned departments and shaping consumer-focused product strategies that support brand, financial, and strategic goals. This position carries ownership for merchandising direction while also being accountable for delivering strong financial outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

Lead assigned departments and help set the tone for a high-performing cross-functional team.

Define ambitious goals, ensure accountability, and support the growth of both the team and the business.

Build and execute short-term and long-term merchandising plans.

Translate consumer insights into actions that shape multiple parts of the business.

Develop product assortment plans that support sales growth and margin targets.

Share product and assortment strategy with senior leadership on an ongoing basis.

Maintain timeline discipline so major milestones and key dates are met.

Run weekly and monthly financial review discussions and identify corrective actions to improve performance.

Partner with planning leaders to build and manage the financial forecast for the business.

Experience and Qualifications

Applicants should bring 9 or more years of experience leading a merchandising team at a senior level and demonstrating strong leadership impact.

Successful candidates will have a strong understanding of current merchandising trends, shifts in consumer behavior, and the pressures created by competitors.

The role requires a demonstrated ability to influence stakeholders, align partners, and communicate merchandising direction clearly and persuasively.

Strong innovation, collaboration, planning, and organizational skills are important for success in this position.

Who Thrives Here

This role is best suited to someone who is energetic, creative, decisive, and comfortable inspiring others. A collaborative, solutions-oriented mindset and a strong sense of accountability are highly valued.
