GO Tutor Corps strives to ensure students receive superior education via focused high-dosage tutoring. Having established in-person tutoring in the Northeastern US over many years, GO began a virtual tutoring program in 2025. As this virtual initiative expands, we are recruiting a dedicated professional to oversee its ongoing success.
Role Overview
We seek a committed educator and program manager to coordinate the daily operations of the Virtual Tutoring program from 7:30am to 3:30pm ET. The coordinator will maintain critical daily logistics to guarantee that the virtual learning sessions maintain high quality, consistency, and align with GO’s tutoring standards. Responsibilities include operational management such as scheduling and attendance, communication with tutors and school leaders via Slack and email, and observing sessions for quality assurance.
Responsibilities
- Manage daily operational systems, including scheduling, attendance tracking, and tutor coverage plans.
- Produce reports from the tutoring platform to assist data analysis and payroll processes.
- Adjust schedules promptly based on tutor absences, student roster modifications, or school needs.
- Serve as primary communication contact for tutors and staff, disseminating weekly communications.
- Perform virtual observations of tutors to monitor instructional quality and provide feedback.
- Recommend tutors for intensified coaching or development plans as necessary.
- Gather and distribute best practices documentation with tutors and school partners.
- Advise on improvements to curriculum content and student engagement tactics.
- Collaborate with school teams and GO colleagues for effective program implementation at partner sites.
- Support the program team through participation in training, check-ins, and other scheduled events, both virtual and in-person.
- Attend monthly in-person staff meetings and other necessary team gatherings.
- Regularly update internal stakeholders on trends, needs, and developments within the virtual tutoring program.
- Contribute to ongoing enhancements of the virtual tutoring model across the organization.
Qualifications & Experience
- Minimum 3 years’ professional experience in education, including direct teaching or tutoring roles.
- Proven logistical and operational management capabilities, with experience in school or tutoring operations preferred.
- Experience conducting tutor or teacher observations using a rubric.
- Exceptional organization, attention to detail, reliability, and responsiveness.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills to build relationships with tutors, school partners, and staff.
- Proficient with technology platforms for communication, scheduling, and instructional support.
- Cultural competency related to diversity and inclusion, with ability to engage in equity discussions.
- Availability to work weekdays from 7:30am to 3:30pm ET.
- Residency within a commutable distance to New York City, including northern New Jersey.
Preferred Skills
- Background in tutoring program coordination.
- Experience with virtual or blended learning settings.
- Familiarity with remote work structures and platforms like AirTable.
Work Location & Schedule
- Remote work primarily, with up to eight in-person days monthly, including school visits and staff meetings.
- Employer covers work-related travel expenses.
Compensation & Benefits
- Annual salary range: $80,000 to $85,000 based on experience.
