Job description
About the Company
Amplify is a major digital entertainment business in the Asia Pacific region. The company is a young, fast-growing team focused on shaping entertainment for modern audiences. It builds commercial opportunities and audience engagement for leading Australian and Asian creators through media partnerships, live experiences, and social commerce, supporting the growth of talent.
Operating as a creator-led agency, Amplify works where talent, content, and culture meet. With teams across Australia, the Asia Pacific, the United States, and other locations, the company partners with major brands to produce fresh campaigns that connect with younger audiences. Its core strengths include influencer marketing, social-first content, and ongoing partnerships with digital talent.
Role Overview
The Video Editor will produce polished, platform-specific content across social, creator, and campaign projects for major brands and talent. The position requires both strong editing ability and a solid grasp of digital culture, with a focus on creating content that performs well on each platform and feels native to online audiences.
As part of Global Production Studios, the editor will work closely with producers, creatives, designers, and other stakeholders across different markets to develop ideas from brief to final delivery. Success in this role depends on strong storytelling instincts, technical skill, and the ability to work quickly without losing creative quality.
The right candidate will be deeply interested in online culture, new trends, and changing platform behaviour, while also having the judgment and precision needed to deliver client-ready work with very few changes.
Responsibilities
- Edit high-quality video assets for social, creator, and campaign use, ensuring the final cut feels native to the platform while still serving brand goals.
- Produce engaging content for TikTok, Instagram Reels, and YouTube Shorts, with careful attention to opening hooks, rhythm, trends, and audience response.
- Apply knowledge of internet culture, creator communities, memes, music trends, and new content formats to strengthen the creative output.
- Interpret briefs with sound editorial judgment, balancing bold ideas with platform conventions and brand expectations.
- Deliver edits that are ready for client review with minimal rework, maintaining strong storytelling, technical quality, and detail accuracy.
- Switch comfortably between fast-turnaround social content and more involved campaign work, including branded films, hero assets, TVCs, sizzle reels, and premium productions.
- Work closely with producers, creatives, designers, and stakeholders across multiple markets to move work from concept to completion.
- Contribute during creative reviews, edit feedback rounds, and campaign kickoffs by offering ideas that improve the work while staying on brief.
- Handle the full editing process, including footage intake, revisions, final exports, and archiving, while keeping files organised and versions clearly managed.
- Spot creative or technical issues early and communicate blockers, suggested fixes, and possible improvements in a timely way.
- Keep up with new editing methods, platform trends, AI tools, and emerging technologies to improve quality and efficiency.
- Support a high-standard creative culture by sharing knowledge, helping teammates, and maintaining editorial consistency across Global Production Studios.
Requirements
- At least 3–5+ years of experience editing social, creator, branded, or campaign content in an agency, publishing, production, or in-house creative setting.
- Hands-on experience producing content for TikTok, Instagram Reels, and YouTube Shorts, along with a strong understanding of what audiences engage with.
- Strong editorial sense with the ability to build compelling stories through pacing, structure, music choices, and creative sequencing.
- Genuine interest in internet culture, creator networks, trends, memes, music, and online communities, plus an understanding of how digital culture evolves.
- Ability to spot new content trends and editing styles early, before they become widely adopted.
- Experience handling both high-volume social deliverables and premium campaign projects, including branded content, hero assets, sizzle reels, and multi-asset campaigns.
- Advanced skills in Adobe Premiere Pro and After Effects, with working knowledge of DaVinci Resolve, CapCut, Photoshop, and similar tools.
- Proven ability to juggle several projects at once while still meeting creative and technical standards.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to produce client-ready work that matches platform requirements and brand expectations.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with experience collaborating with producers, creatives, and stakeholders in fast-moving environments.
- Ability to work independently while also contributing positively to a global team environment.
Desirable
- Experience filming social, creator, or branded content, including use of cameras, lighting, and audio equipment.
- Ability to capture content for TikTok, Instagram, and YouTube with an eye for framing, pacing, and platform-native storytelling.
- Familiarity with creator-led or run-and-gun production environments where speed and flexibility matter.
