Overview
This leadership role is for a Vice President of Corporate Engineering based in the United States. It involves steering the development of enterprise technology platforms that underpin essential business functions. The position requires defining strategies, architecture, and execution plans for internal systems, automation, and AI-led transformation efforts. The VP will guide a diverse engineering team focused on optimizing operational efficiency, scalability, and enhancing employee experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement long-range strategies for corporate engineering, enterprise systems, automation tools, and business technology projects.
- Lead AI-driven initiatives to enhance workflows, decision-making, and productivity across corporate departments.
- Build and refine a high-caliber engineering team including software engineers, system specialists, program managers, admins, and data experts.
- Set technical standards, governance, and operational practices for enterprise applications and automation environments.
- Manage the architecture and ongoing enhancement of major business platforms such as HR, finance, legal, workflow, and operations systems.
- Collaborate with executive leadership to create strategic roadmaps that drive business efficiency, improve employee satisfaction, and ensure scalable growth.
- Champion modernization by assessing emerging technologies and incorporating innovative solutions into enterprise systems.
- Mentor and develop engineering leadership, encouraging a culture of accountability, inclusiveness, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
- Work closely with Product, Engineering, Security, IT, and business teams to maximize technological impact aligned with corporate goals.
- Promote responsible experimentation, governance, and adoption of AI across corporate technology functions.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Extensive experience leading and expanding multidisciplinary engineering or enterprise technology groups.
- In-depth knowledge of enterprise platforms such as ServiceNow, Workday, Workato, or comparable systems critical to business operations.
- Track record in implementing enterprise technology modernization and managing large-scale transformation programs.
- Strong familiarity with AI technologies and demonstrated application of generative AI to streamline business processes.
- Ability to define technical strategies, operating models, and implementation roadmaps that align with organizational goals.
- Experience collaborating with C-level executives to translate sophisticated technical concepts into actionable business strategies.
- Proven leadership skills including team coaching, development, and fostering inclusive, high-performing cultures.
- Excellent communication abilities to effectively direct, provide feedback, and interface with a variety of stakeholders.
- Experience spearheading workflow automation, platform engineering, and integration projects in dynamic technology environments.
- Preferred background includes enterprise AI platforms, Centers of Excellence, SaaS companies, or early career software engineering experience.
