Job description

About the opportunity

BetterUp is looking for a senior client leadership professional to work closely with customers in the Toronto area, Canada. This position is designed for someone who wants more than a standard client services role: it is a high-trust, strategic seat focused on helping enterprise organizations create meaningful people and culture transformation.

The company emphasizes a mission-driven, inventive, and highly engaged culture. New hires are supported with coaching, development, and a collaborative team environment built around personal growth and impactful work. Candidates should be able to commit to working closely with clients in the Toronto area.

Role impact

In this position, you will act as the executive counterpart for enterprise customers and help shape human capital strategies that influence performance, culture, and growth. The work goes beyond platform adoption and includes co-creating transformation plans, guiding execution, and ensuring the customer sees measurable value over time.

This is a front-line leadership role rather than a back-office support function. Success in the role depends on your ability to build senior-level trust, align cross-functional teams, and turn strategic ideas into real outcomes.

What you will do

  • Act as the primary strategic partner for enterprise implementations and work directly with CHROs and other business leaders.
  • Turn complex business and talent problems into clear transformation roadmaps, then carry those plans from design through delivery.
  • Earn credibility with senior stakeholders by serving as an advisor, thought partner, and change driver.
  • Guide a cross-functional deployment group spanning delivery, data, communications, and change management.
  • Run strategic working sessions, lead executive check-ins, and clearly communicate the value delivered to the customer.
  • Work with the account team to preserve continuity and uncover expansion opportunities through trusted advisory support.
  • Focus on measurable outcomes, making sure the transformation promised to the client is actually achieved.
  • Apply pattern recognition, a coaching-oriented mindset, and strong execution discipline across every engagement.
  • Use AI-enabled tools and insights to improve client engagement, identify growth opportunities, and strengthen account performance through personalization, upsell targeting, and churn prediction.
  • Leverage AI-driven analysis to measure customer impact such as retention, expansion, and ROI, and use those insights to shape strategic account recommendations.

Experience and qualifications

Applicants should have deep senior-level experience in consulting, HR transformation, organizational development, or a closely related strategic discipline. The ideal candidate will have a strong track record of advising executives, especially CHROs and enterprise leaders, and will bring both human capital expertise and commercial business judgment.

You should also have experience leading complex, cross-functional change efforts at scale. Strong communication and storytelling skills are important, along with comfort navigating ambiguity, taking initiative, and driving improvements rather than simply completing tasks. Experience in a high-growth SaaS company, human transformation platform, or people technology environment is considered an advantage.

AI and working style

BetterUp describes itself as an AI-forward organization where human expertise and AI capability work together. The team is expected to keep learning, experiment responsibly, share discoveries, and adopt evolving best practices for AI-augmented work. Candidates should be ready to show how they use AI to learn faster, iterate more effectively, and broaden their impact while preserving strong human judgment and creativity.

Benefits and compensation

  • Access to BetterUp coaching for you and one friend or family member
  • Competitive pay with room for growth
  • Medical, dental, and vision coverage
  • Flexible paid time off
  • All federal and statutory holidays observed
  • 4 BetterUp Inner Workdays
  • 5 volunteer days
  • Learning and development stipend
  • Company-wide summer and winter breaks
  • Annual charitable contribution made by the company on your behalf
  • 401(k) self-contribution option
  • Annual bonus eligibility

The base pay range for this role is CAD 257,000 to CAD 322,000 per year. This range covers base salary only and does not include equity, bonus, or benefits. Final compensation may change over time and depends on relevant experience, education or training, residence location, and market factors.

Equal opportunity and privacy

BetterUp states that it is committed to inclusive hiring and welcomes applicants from diverse backgrounds. Employment decisions are made without discrimination based on race, color, religion, sex, national origin, disability, genetics, gender, sexual orientation, age, marital status, or veteran status, and the company follows applicable nondiscrimination laws in the locations where it operates.

By applying, candidates acknowledge that personal information will be handled in line with the company’s applicant privacy notice. Questions about personal data or related rights can be directed to the company’s support email.
