Role overview
Macro BMA is looking for a part-time remote Venture Capital Analyst to help evaluate investment opportunities and support portfolio oversight. This position is focused on research, analysis, and coordination across the investment process.
Key responsibilities
The analyst will identify and assess potential investments, examine pitch materials, and carry out market and competitor research across different industries. The role includes developing and updating financial models, drafting investment memos, and assisting with due diligence for prospective transactions. You will also monitor portfolio company performance, prepare internal updates and reports, and help manage communication with founders and internal teams. In addition, the role involves working closely with the investment team in meetings and contributing to the evolution of the firm’s investment themes and deal pipeline.
Qualifications
- Excellent analytical ability, with the capacity to organize complex information, assess business models, and form clear conclusions based on data.
- Strong grounding in finance and investing, including knowledge of valuation approaches, unit economics, and core venture capital concepts.
- Hands-on experience with financial modeling, especially for early-stage businesses and scenario-based analysis.
- Clear written and spoken communication skills, with the ability to share insights effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- A bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business, or another quantitative discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
- Self-driven, detail-oriented, and capable of handling several priorities independently while working remotely.
- Exposure to startup ecosystems, technology trends, and venture capital transaction workflows is an added advantage.
- Comfort using common productivity and collaboration tools such as spreadsheets, presentation software, and remote communication platforms.
