Role overview

We are seeking a seasoned Design / Launch Quality professional to help drive quality for vehicle launch programs focused on Body and Interior sub-systems. The role is based in Chennai and calls for 6 to 10 years of relevant experience.

Key responsibilities

  • Contribute to vehicle launch execution and help meet quality objectives at each program milestone.
  • Lead problem-solving efforts using 5D, 8D, and other structured root-cause analysis methods to close issues effectively.
  • Examine engineering drawings, GD&T details, and tolerance stack-ups to confirm product compliance.
  • Support prototype, pilot, pre-series, and SOP build phases by addressing assembly, fitment, and dimensional concerns.
  • Work closely with Design, Manufacturing, Supplier Quality, and Production functions to keep launch activities on track.
  • Carry out part validation, supplier audits, dimensional convergence reviews, and quality assessments.
  • Handle engineering change impacts and assess how they affect product quality and manufacturability.
  • Monitor launch-quality KPIs, supplier non-conformances, and corrective actions until completion.

Required expertise

  • Minimum 6 years of experience in automotive launch or design quality roles.
  • Solid command of vehicle launch work and launch-quality practices.
  • Practical knowledge of GD&T and tolerance stack-up analysis.
  • Proven use of root cause analysis, 5D, and 8D problem-solving tools.
  • Exposure to engineering change management and part validation activities.
  • Experience with supplier process audits and supplier quality processes.
  • Understanding of dimensional convergence, gap and flush, and fit-and-finish standards.
  • Technical familiarity with instrument panels, consoles, door trims, soft trims, bumpers, and related body/interior components.
  • Strong analytical thinking, communication, and cross-functional coordination skills.
  • Knowledge of automotive quality systems and product development workflows.

Eligibility

Applicants should hold a B.Tech / B.E. degree in Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering, Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Electronics and Instrumentation Engineering, Electronics, or Electrical.

Location: Chennai, India. Experience range: 6-10 years. Compensation offered: INR 5,00,000 to 10,00,000 per year.
