Job description

Role overview

Ibotta is hiring a UX Researcher to support its mission of making every purchase rewarding. In this role, you’ll help shape product decisions by turning research findings into actionable direction for product, design, and business teams. The UX Research organization works on launch optimization, resource prioritization, and uncovering new opportunity areas, while also contributing to the broader research community through experimentation, conference participation, and continuous learning.

This position is based in Denver, Colorado and follows a hybrid schedule with three in-office days each week: Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday. Candidates must live in the United States. If you are not already in Denver, a relocation bonus is available to support your move.

What you will do

  • Apply both qualitative and quantitative research approaches to understand users and the wider business context.
  • Lead early-stage discovery work such as user and stakeholder interviews, journey mapping, service blueprinting, task analysis, personas/JTBD, and similar activities.
  • Collaborate with designers throughout the iterative design cycle using usability testing, click testing, information architecture card sorting, tree testing, and related methods.
  • Support post-launch optimization and ongoing discovery through A/B testing, multivariate testing, UMUX, and other user sentiment research.
  • Promote UX research as both a discipline and a practical input into product and business strategy.
  • Clearly communicate research insights, implications, and recommended actions to partners across the organization.
  • Work closely with designers, product managers, and data analysts, while also influencing engineering, business development, and marketing stakeholders.
  • Use common research and collaboration tools including UserTesting, Miro, Qualtrics, dScout, Google Workspace, and Slack.
  • Manage your own priorities, timelines, and project direction with a high level of independence.
  • Contribute to team learning by sharing best practices, experimenting with tools, and surfacing unexpected insights.
  • Operate in line with Ibotta’s core values: Integrity, Boldness, Ownership, Teamwork, Transparency, and the belief that good ideas can come from anywhere.

Requirements

  • 2 to 4 years of hands-on UX research experience in an in-house or agency environment.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • Strong curiosity about both research problems and your own professional growth.
  • Comfort working in ambiguity while helping build and mature a UX research function.
  • Experience defining the scope of research and leading complex research projects.
  • Understanding of the advantages and limitations of different research methods and how to choose the right approach for each question.

Compensation and benefits

The base salary range for this role is $92,000 to $114,000 per year. Equity is part of the overall compensation package. Compensation may be adjusted based on actual experience and is tied to the United States labor market.

Benefits include flexible time off, medical, dental, and vision coverage, a Lifestyle Spending Account, Employee Stock Purchase Program, and a 401(k) match. Denver office perks include paid parking, snacks, and occasional meals. A relocation bonus is available for candidates moving to Denver.

Ibotta is an equal opportunity employer and makes employment decisions without regard to race, color, religion, national origin, age, sex, marital status, ancestry, physical or mental disability, veteran status, gender identity, sexual orientation, or any other legally protected status.

Applicants must already be authorized to work full-time in the United States. Applications will be reviewed until the role is filled.
