UX Designer

About the Role

We are seeking a UX Designer who excels at tackling complex challenges and creating seamless digital experiences. This role prioritizes user clarity, usability, and minimizing friction rather than just delivering visually appealing designs.

This position is central to how users interact with Caledonia, involving shaping user flows, building design systems, and transforming financial services into engaging and user-friendly products. Ideal candidates think like designers but work with the agility of product developers.

Responsibilities

• Design comprehensive user experiences for both web and mobile platforms.
• Work collaboratively with product managers, engineers, and stakeholders to guide product features and UX priorities.
• Convert product requirements into wireframes, prototypes, and detailed visual designs.
• Lead and analyze user research and usability testing to refine designs based on feedback.
• Establish and maintain UX patterns and documentation to ensure design consistency.
• Contribute to developing and advancing the design language and component library.
• Communicate design decisions effectively and champion user-centric solutions in conversations.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum of three years experience in user experience, interaction, or product design.
• A robust portfolio demonstrating problem-solving through design in real-world scenarios.
• Experience designing comprehensive digital products beyond simple marketing or landing pages.
• Proficiency with design tools such as Figma, including prototyping and handoff processes.
• Ability to work effectively within agile teams alongside engineers and product managers.
• Excellent communication skills to articulate design concepts clearly.
• A proactive approach to continuous learning with strong attention to detail and improvement.

Team and Work Environment

This role reports directly to the Head of Product and entails close cooperation with engineers, fellow designers, and the company's co-founders. Joining this position means becoming part of the core team responsible for defining our user experience from the outset.
