Role Overview
This six-month renewable contract position offers a fully remote opportunity based in the United States for a UX Content Designer and Writer. The role focuses on crafting clear and effective content that enhances product usability and supports users in completing their tasks efficiently. The hourly compensation ranges from $34 to $46, determined by factors such as experience, skills, qualifications, and location. Candidates must be authorized to work in the US without visa sponsorship, as none is provided.
Key Responsibilities
- Create, edit, test, and refine content that simplifies product interaction and helps users achieve their objectives across various touchpoints including product flows, interface text, educational resources, emails, push notifications, and terminology.
- Develop and implement a robust content strategy during product development to drive consistency and optimize messaging across diverse member and business scenarios.
- Establish and maintain a unified messaging vision for products to ensure cohesive narratives across digital platforms.
- Apply storytelling techniques aligned with brand tone and voice to enrich the user experience.
- Formulate and oversee content guidelines covering voice, tone, headers, calls to action, formatting, and emoticon usage.
- Identify and establish messaging conventions and conduct audits to find content gaps or areas for improvement impacting customer experience and business outcomes.
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including product, design, research, legal, engineering, marketing, and customer experience to advocate best content practices.
- Research and analyze messaging challenges, offering strategic solutions through content innovation.
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously, prioritizing based on effort, deadlines, and project requirements.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in English, Communications, Journalism, or equivalent education and relevant experience.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in UX content design, UX writing, or content strategy.
- Strong project management skills, with the ability to lead teams and manage resources and schedules effectively.
- Experience mentoring colleagues and articulating design concepts to diverse audiences, including non-design professionals.
- Excellent verbal and visual communication abilities, attention to detail, and organizational aptitude.
- Capability to integrate analytical, creative, and critical thinking approaches.
- Advanced writing and editing expertise with a focus on user-centered design principles and methodologies.
- Familiarity with development technologies and standards, such as HTML, XHTML, AJAX, JavaScript, and CSS.
- Experience designing for web, mobile, and applications with awareness of best practices for content, tools, and forms.
- Preferred: Master’s degree in related fields, knowledge of financial services industry, and certification as a Human Factors Institute Analyst.
