Overview
ELM Utility Services is hiring a Utility Locate Technician for the Springfield, Nebraska area. The organization employs more than 1,700 people across the country and provides an opportunity to support community infrastructure by helping keep gas, electric, and communication networks safe and dependable.
In this role, you will perform accurate utility marking to help prevent damage during excavation work. The position uses the LaunchPoint software platform, which is described as an advanced system designed to improve efficiency and support daily field work. Pay starts at $22.00 to $30.00 per hour, depending on experience.
Responsibilities
- Work independently outdoors while using the company vehicle as your mobile workspace.
- Complete the assigned daily route of utility locate requests.
- Identify and mark underground utilities carefully, safely, and accurately using paint, flags, and, when needed, whiskers.
- Access and manage daily assignments through the mobile work system.
Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- High school diploma or GED is required.
- A valid driver’s license is required.
- Candidate must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen, motor vehicle record review, and background check.
- This is a DOT safety-sensitive role and must follow all applicable federal Department of Transportation rules.
- Use of marijuana, whether medical or recreational, is not allowed for this position.
Compensation and benefits
- Starting pay ranges from $22.00 to $30.00 per hour based on experience.
