Role Overview

The Utility role at Sagora Senior Living is essential for maintaining cleanliness and preparation in the dining areas and kitchen. This position supports the Dining Room Manager and Culinary Director by ensuring exceptional hospitality, service standards, and resident satisfaction through the management of dining room and kitchen cleaning tasks.

Key Responsibilities

• Collecting dishes and kitchen utensils from tables during mealtimes for cleaning.
• Washing dishes and utensils to meet the highest cleanliness standards and removing all stains.
• Daily monitoring of the dishwashing machine's temperature, reporting any issues to the Culinary Director promptly.
• Identifying and removing cracked or broken dishes and damaged utensils to prevent hazards, alerting the Culinary Director accordingly.
• Properly storing dishes, glassware, and utensils for subsequent use.
• Assisting with meal preparation and decoration under the Culinary Director's guidance.
• Setting up tables, managing beverage stations, and refilling condiments like salt, pepper, and sugar.
• Portioning salads and desserts as directed.
• Promptly and courteously serving meals to residents and delivering meals to rooms as needed.
• Disposing of trash appropriately.
• Cleaning the dishwashing machine at shift end and performing monthly deep-cleaning of the kitchen.
• Sweeping and mopping kitchen floors, walk-in refrigerators, and freezers each evening.

Candidate Requirements

• Preferred minimum of six months experience in commercial kitchen environments.
• Possession of a valid food handler’s permit as mandated by state or local authorities.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with residents, families, guests, and colleagues in English.
• Attributes such as care, organizational skills, and the capability to multitask efficiently.
