About the Role

Zaizi seeks a User Researcher at SFIA4 level to support government clients in the Public Safety sector within an agile, delivery-centric environment. The role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams to deeply understand user needs and design evidence-based services.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan, lead, and execute user research activities to uncover user behaviors, motivations, pain points, and needs throughout the product lifecycle.
  • Translate research findings into actionable insights that guide product design, service delivery, and strategic decisions.
  • Support and mentor junior User Researchers, promoting growth and maintaining high research standards.
  • Collaborate closely with Product Managers, Business Analysts, UX/UI Designers, and Engineers to ensure user evidence drives decision-making.
  • Design and facilitate workshops to assist research, discovery, and service improvement efforts.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients and stakeholders to embed user-centered approaches.
  • Identify research opportunities from unclear business or user challenges.
  • Provide expertise on inclusive, ethical, and accessible research practices.

Expectations and Competencies

  • Demonstrate expert knowledge and practical application of diverse qualitative and quantitative research methods.
  • Plan and conduct research ethically, including participant recruitment and facilitating inclusive approaches.
  • Analyze and synthesize raw data into clear, evidence-based insights and recommendations.
  • Communicate complex user research findings effectively to varied stakeholder groups.
  • Operate flexibly and agilely across multiple projects.
  • Coach and upskill colleagues on research benefits and best practices.

Requirements

  • Proven experience leading user research activities using qualitative and quantitative methods.
  • Strong analytical skills to convert user data into strategic insights.
  • Ability to set research objectives and define appropriate methodologies.
  • Experience in recruiting participants and conducting ethical, inclusive, accessible research.
  • Experience mentoring or coaching other researchers.
  • Must have Active SC Clearance.

Compensation and Benefits

  • Salary range: £55,000 to £65,000 per year.
