Job description
Role overview
This part-time position is based in Sydney, NSW and combines on-site collaboration with the flexibility to work from home. The UI/UX Designer / Graphic Designer will create clear, user-friendly interfaces and compelling visual content for digital platforms, while making sure all output aligns with brand standards and communication objectives.
What you'll do
In this role, you will develop wireframes, mockups, and interactive prototypes, while also refining layouts, icons, and other graphic components for web and mobile products. You will work closely with communication teams, developers, and other stakeholders to turn requirements into practical, user-focused design solutions. The role also includes carrying out basic user testing or feedback sessions, incorporating learnings into design revisions, preparing final production files, assisting with front-end delivery, and keeping design systems, libraries, and style guides up to date.
Qualifications and experience
Applicants should bring solid UI/UX capability, including the ability to understand user and stakeholder needs and turn them into straightforward, usable interfaces. You should be comfortable building mockups and prototypes to test ideas, demonstrate flows, and explain design choices to non-technical audiences. Strong visual design skills are also important, including layout, typography, colour use, and the development of polished graphic assets.
A basic understanding of front-end development such as HTML, CSS, and responsive design principles is needed to work well with developers. Experience using standard design and prototyping tools such as Figma, Sketch, Adobe XD, Adobe Creative Cloud, or similar platforms is expected. You should be able to manage your time effectively in a hybrid setup, handle several priorities at once, and maintain a strong eye for detail. Good communication and teamwork skills are essential, especially when presenting concepts and design reasoning to different stakeholders. A relevant qualification or equivalent hands-on experience in UI/UX Design, Graphic Design, Interaction Design, or a related area is required, and a portfolio of digital design work must be provided.
Additional information
This role is part-time and hybrid, with a combination of on-site work and work-from-home flexibility. A portfolio demonstrating digital design projects is mandatory.
