About ZEP
ZEP develops modern work solutions for more than 3,000 companies in the German SME market. The team is currently rebuilding the next generation of its product from the ground up with Laravel and Vue.js, while also creating new AI-driven products that rethink project work from the start.
This role is for a designer who does not just understand AI, but actively uses it as part of everyday work. Tools such as Figma Make, Cursor, and Claude should feel like standard equipment rather than experiments. The ideal person can move fast, turning ideas into working prototypes in hours while combining strong craft with AI leverage in the design process.
What you will work on
- Create designs for the next ZEP product generation built on Vue.js, with a strong focus on usability for B2B SaaS and smooth handoff to engineering.
- Help shape the company’s new AI products, including user interfaces for agentic workflows.
- Build, expand, and maintain the design system across design and prototyping tools.
- Run AI-assisted prototyping sprints, moving from briefing to a clickable prototype within 1–2 days.
- Work closely with developers, product managers, and the company’s co-CEO.
What they are looking for
The role calls for a designer with a strong AI-native toolkit and a clear understanding of where AI prototypes are enough and where polished, pixel-level design matters.
- Hands-on prototyping experience with tools such as Lovable, Figma Make, or Claude Design.
- Regular use of Claude or ChatGPT for concept development, copy, and code support.
- Experience with Cursor or similar AI IDEs to understand Vue.js components and improve design handoffs.
- Ideally, familiarity with MCP, agentic workflows, or custom GPTs.
- Strong judgment about when a fast AI-generated design prototype is sufficient and when detailed craft is necessary.
- A strong sense for aesthetics, typography, color, and layout.
