UI Designer - Remote in UK

Immersive is seeking an experienced UI / Visual Designer to join the Product team and help define the next stage of the platform experience. This position reports to the Director of Product Design and is based in the UK.

The ideal candidate combines strong visual taste with a practical, systems-led approach. The work involves crafting interfaces that are attractive, clear, accessible and scalable, while also supporting complex workflows and real product needs. You will collaborate with product designers, engineers and product leaders to shape modern, polished and distinctive experiences across the platform.

This role also includes contributing to the design system, creating reusable patterns and supporting design-to-build workflows. Immersive is also interested in using AI tools to accelerate ideation, prototyping and production tasks, creating more room for high-quality design decisions. The position offers the chance to influence how the platform looks, feels and scales as it evolves.

Responsibilities

• Design platform screens and interface experiences that are visually refined, usable, accessible and easy to understand.
• Turn complex product flows and dense information into structured, intuitive layouts.
• Create reusable UI components, templates and patterns that can be applied across the product.
• Help evolve the design system through better component usage, visual standards and interaction states.
• Explore fresh visual directions and interface treatments for the platform.
• Work closely with engineers to make sure designs are practical to build and delivered to a high standard.
• Translate design concepts into production-ready components, patterns and implementation guidance.
• Support component specification, implementation checks and design QA.
• Use AI tools to speed up exploration, prototyping and repetitive production work.
• Contribute to a higher overall standard of product craft through disciplined, systemised design.

Requirements

• Background in UI design, visual design and design systems.
• A portfolio that demonstrates polished digital product design work.
• Strong visual design fundamentals and a sharp eye for detail.
• Experience contributing to or working within design systems, including reusable components, documentation, design tokens or Storybook-style workflows.
• Ability to design scalable interface solutions and reusable patterns.
• Experience partnering with product designers and engineers to create practical, buildable interfaces, especially in collaboration with front-end teams, component libraries or design-system implementation.
• A balanced mindset that values craft while still designing within real product constraints.
• Interest in AI-assisted design workflows and modern design-to-build methods.
• Advantageous experience in SaaS, enterprise software, dashboards, data-heavy interfaces or complex platforms.
• Basic knowledge of front-end implementation principles is a plus.
• Interest in motion, micro-interactions, prototyping or AI-based design tools is beneficial.
