Role Summary

This full-time, on-site position in Kenya is for a Travel Consultant who will guide clients through travel choices such as flights, accommodation, transfers, tours, and travel insurance, while ensuring every itinerary matches the client’s preferences and budget. The role includes building, confirming, and updating reservations; issuing tickets and vouchers; managing amendments or cancellations; and working with airlines, hotels, and other service providers. You will answer queries by phone, email, and face to face, share accurate guidance on visas, health rules, and travel regulations, handle payments, keep client records current in booking systems, solve service problems, and help generate repeat business through follow-up and excellent service.

Responsibilities

• Advise clients on suitable travel options, including flights, stays, transfers, tours, and insurance.
• Build travel plans that match each client’s budget, preferences, and timing needs.
• Create, verify, and manage reservations, tickets, and travel vouchers.
• Handle itinerary changes, rebookings, and cancellations with accuracy and care.
• Coordinate with airlines, hotels, and other travel partners to complete bookings and service requests.
• Respond to customer questions through phone, email, and in-person communication.
• Provide correct information on visa rules, health-related travel needs, and destination regulations.
• Process payments and maintain accurate client and booking records.
• Resolve service issues promptly and professionally.
• Support repeat bookings through proactive follow-up and strong customer service.

Requirements

• Strong background in travel consulting and travel management, with the ability to plan and coordinate complete itineraries.
• Practical experience using booking systems and tools, including AERO CRS, for flights, lodging, and related services.
• Excellent customer service abilities, including clear communication, problem-solving, and professional handling of client expectations.
• High attention to detail, strong documentation accuracy, and the ability to stay organized across multiple bookings and deadlines.
• Working knowledge of regional and international travel rules, visa requirements, and travel insurance options.
• Comfort using standard office software and reservation systems; experience with Amadeus GDS and NDC is required.
• A relevant diploma or degree in Travel, Tourism, Hospitality, or a related discipline, or equivalent hands-on experience.
• Ability to work on-site in Kenya and collaborate effectively in a client-focused team environment.
