Transcriptionist

Job Overview

Join the team at Olean General Hospital as a full-time Transcriptionist responsible for accurately transcribing and interpreting medical reports. This role involves verifying medication dosages, ensuring proper spelling, punctuation, grammar, and medical terminology usage, and correcting errors or notifying physicians under the guidance of the Practice Management Supervisor.

Qualifications and Experience

The ideal candidate should possess a high school diploma or equivalent; an associate's degree in Medical Secretarial or a related field or completion of an approved transcription program is preferred. Certified medical transcriptionists are favored. Additionally, one year of recent hospital experience or relevant knowledge of medical terminology with the ability to work independently is advantageous.

• Scheduled Work Hours: 8 AM to 4 PM

Compensation

The pay rate ranges from $16.54 to $22.74 per hour, determined by experience, qualifications, internal equity, and any relevant collective bargaining agreements. Salary is paid bi-weekly.
