Training Instructor - Armaments

Role Overview

The Training Instructor for Armaments is tasked with preparing and delivering both theoretical and hands-on instruction related to Typhoon aircraft systems, specialist operations, and support training. This role includes conducting assessments of trainee performance and evaluating the overall effectiveness of the training programs. Formal classroom training takes place at the Qatar Typhoon Training Facility (QTTF), complemented by mentored on-the-job training within operational settings. Additionally, the role involves managing and developing squadron personnel competencies through the Squadron Training Cell.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and deliver assigned courses based on the approved syllabus and training materials aligned with the schedule maintained in the Training Management Information System (TMIS).
• Supervise and grade examinations and practical assessments.
• Continuously assess, evaluate, and report on the progress of trainees.
• Manage and sustain competencies of squadron members through designated training programs.
• Ensure all trainees correctly use Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and adhere to safety guidelines during practical sessions.
• Verify that equipment checks and approvals are completed prior to training.
• Maintain safe training environments, including classrooms, workshops, and aircraft.
• Maintain discipline among trainees at all times, including breaks and transitions between training areas.
• Report trainee absences promptly to supervisory staff.
• Fulfill additional responsibilities as directed, such as Course Coordinator, Subject Lead, and Training Equipment Coordinator.
• Maintain and update personal instructor competencies.
• Promote continuous improvement by identifying and communicating training deficiencies and suggesting enhancements to the syllabus and materials.

Required Qualifications and Experience

• Hold a recognized training qualification at Level 3 or above (e.g., Level 3 Award, Level 4 Certificate, or Level 5 Diploma in Education & Training).
• Possess a minimum qualification equivalent to NVQ Level 3 or ONC in a relevant aircraft maintenance discipline.
• Have at least five years of recent, detailed experience within a maintenance and support operational environment, including direct involvement with training activities.
• Understand the regulatory frameworks governing training systems, processes, and activities.
• Have a minimum of two years’ experience delivering Type training for aircraft and possess operational knowledge of instructional and mentoring methods.
• Be capable of independently executing complex professional training tasks and contributing to the training team’s success through expert knowledge.
