Role Overview
We are expanding our team due to the transition to the Southland Integrated Delivery Contract (IDC)—the NZTA's framework for managing and renewing the state highway network. The Traffic Operations Supervisor will coordinate and oversee all traffic management tasks under the IDC, ensuring network access, corridor coordination, and notifications are completed accurately and promptly while upholding compliance with traffic management and health and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate traffic management for planned works, reactive upkeep, and incident handling.
- Manage bookings related to time, space, early access requests, deployment notifications, and corridor access.
- Collaborate with internal teams, contractors, utilities, local councils, and NZTA to harmonize traffic planning and implementation.
- Identify and resolve scheduling conflicts, optimizing corridor usage to reduce disruptions for road users.
- Support operational teams by ensuring appropriate traffic management protocols are enacted.

Qualifications and Skills
- Background in traffic management coordination, roading, or civil maintenance sectors.
