Role overview

This opportunity is for a Trading Team Manager designate supporting stores across Athlone and Galway. The contract is permanent and the role is set at 36.75 hours per week. The package offers up to €45,000 per year, plus bonus, pension and 7 weeks of holiday including bank holidays. The position may be full time, part time or job share.

As a designate manager, you will spend around 3 to 6 months working across a store cluster before moving into a department or store that suits your background. This period is designed to build your understanding of the business through exposure to different store formats and management training. Some flexibility and travel will be needed while you are in the designate phase.

B&Q focuses on helping customers create homes they love, and this role plays a central part in delivering strong commercial results on the shop floor while supporting colleagues to give customers great service.

What the role involves

  • Leading delivery of the core trading floor plan, including stock control, range changes and promotional activity.
  • Using sales figures, loyalty information and customer feedback to carry out regular commercial reviews.
  • Helping colleagues grow their product knowledge and improve customer conversations so every shopper feels valued.
