Role summary
This on-site sales role is a key part of the branch’s customer experience. You will be the first point of contact for visitors and will also support customers by phone and email. The position involves processing sales, responding to product questions, keeping records accurate, and helping the branch run smoothly. It is well suited to someone who enjoys variety, accuracy, and direct customer interaction.
Responsibilities
- Welcome customers and visitors promptly and provide helpful, professional service.
- Handle questions and requests by phone, email, and at the counter with a practical, solutions-oriented approach.
- Process sales transactions carefully and efficiently in line with branch procedures.
- Record customer, sales, and stock details in the relevant systems without delay and with accuracy.
- Track stock movements, returns, and replacements to keep inventory records correct.
- Keep the branch area clean, safe, well-organised, and support day-to-day branch tasks as needed.
Requirements
- Background in customer service or sales, ideally gained in a retail or trade environment; electrical knowledge would be an advantage.
- Strong organisational skills and a high level of accuracy when managing transactions and stock.
- Clear, confident communication skills and the ability to build good rapport with customers.
- Comfort using point-of-sale systems or similar software, with careful attention to detail.
- A practical mindset, willingness to help the team, and a focus on finding solutions.
