Role Overview
The Tours Coordinator is integral in showcasing Tesla's cutting-edge products and operations by delivering informative, engaging factory tours. This role supports broader engagement efforts that enhance the workplace environment, promote operational excellence, and strengthen internal communication, all of which aid contract acquisition and improve factory effectiveness. The position requires full-time, on-site presence from Monday to Friday at the Megafactory TX (MFTX).
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver Tesla Energy-focused factory tours that authentically engage visitors and educate them on company products, mission, and manufacturing processes.
- Capture and organize photographic and written content during tours involving customers, family, and friends to enhance storytelling and team morale.
- Coordinate and customize tour schedules and routes for varied groups, including customers, VIPs, staff, and educators, in collaboration with multiple departments such as Sales, Business Development, Engineering, and Operations.
- Oversee all logistical aspects of tours, including visitor check-in, audiovisual setup, safety instructions, and accessibility accommodations; lead and train tour guides to ensure consistent, on-brand visitor experiences.
- Collect and analyze visitor feedback and satisfaction metrics to assess tour effectiveness and report insights to leadership for ongoing refinements.
- Assist in organizing factory events, recognition activities, and cultural initiatives that comply with company policies and safety guidelines.
- Manage internal communications and digital platforms for the factory, aid in leadership events such as All Hands and quarterly business reviews, and handle budget and vendor relations under the Senior Program Manager’s direction.
Qualifications and Skills
- Excellent verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
- Comfortable addressing large, inquisitive audiences and adept at managing group dynamics.
- Confidence in interacting with Tesla executives and delivering presentations to high-profile customers and visitors.
- Demonstrated experience in customer service, sales, and preferably the energy industry, particularly energy storage.
- Ability to safely operate vehicles such as trams, golf carts, or passenger vans in a factory setting while narrating production processes.
- Adaptability to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced, and sometimes uncertain work environment.
