Job description
Role Overview
This position is responsible for ensuring that site-level quality standards are planned, monitored, and sustained across the project. The role supports budgeting, quality planning, inspections, audit readiness, contractor coordination, and corrective action closure while aligning with company quality practices and applicable regulations.
Planning & Budgeting
Stay updated on market practices and current trends related to quality standards. Prepare the quality budget for the site and submit it to the Regional Head for final review and approval. Make sure all quality activities remain within the approved budget and that site quality management plans are prepared for review and sign-off.
Quality Control
Run kick-off meetings and brief contractors on the project’s quality expectations. Develop quality plans and method statements for the assigned work packages and obtain the required approvals. Check incoming materials for compliance, flag any gaps, and coordinate replacement actions with the relevant stakeholders; arrange third-party inspections when required.
Carry out weekly quality inspections on site to confirm that work follows company standards and statutory requirements. Raise non-conformance reports for deviations, perform root cause analysis, and submit corrective and preventive actions for approval. Inspect units during handover to confirm readiness and work with stakeholders to close out any pending issues. Track and resolve deviations within the agreed timelines, ensure all inspection observations are closed, and keep detailed records of inspections and third-party reports. Prepare and maintain quality MIS reports for each project.
Quality Assurance
Execute quality-related activities in line with the Birla Quality Manual and other applicable standards for the site. Support internal and external audits, ensure the site is prepared with all necessary documents, and help close audit observations within the defined timeline by implementing corrective actions. Conduct regular quality awareness sessions at site and take part in external training programs when needed.
Continuous Improvement
Contribute ideas to strengthen the quality management system. Identify improvement opportunities based on proven best practices, secure approval, and ensure the changes are implemented effectively.
