Job description
About the Role
This position focuses on planning and tracking regional construction projects for the Birla Ojasvi initiative under Aditya Birla Group. The role is centered on building realistic schedules, monitoring execution, coordinating with stakeholders, and keeping project reporting accurate and timely.
Project Planning
- Prepare the pre-construction plan for all projects in the region and share it with the HO Planner for validation.
- Create baseline schedules with the required resources and monthly cash flow plans, then route them to the HO Planner for review.
- Take part in project kick-off meetings and clearly communicate timelines, reporting cadence, update expectations, and similar planning requirements to contractors.
- Build cost curves for regional projects and submit them for approval by the HO Planner.
Project Monitoring
- Run weekly review discussions with the project team to track progress and keep execution on course.
- Document action items, follow up with the right stakeholders, and ensure closure of agreed tasks.
- Join monthly review meetings led by HO and present project status updates.
- Visit project sites regularly across the assigned region to check progress and confirm alignment with the approved plan.
- Prepare, combine, and submit daily, weekly, and monthly MIS reports to HO using the inputs received from the field.
- Escalate any slippages or deviations to the relevant stakeholders so corrective action can be taken quickly.
- Track closure of finalized action points and ensure nothing remains open unnecessarily.
- Upload the consolidated MIS reports into the Darpan portal for the assigned region.
Risk Management and Compliance
- Identify risks during the planning stage and work with the HO Planner and Region Head to create mitigation plans.
- Watch for emerging risks in live projects and address them early to reduce schedule delays and cost overruns.
- Maintain compliance with the function’s SOPs at all times.
Continuous Improvement
- Keep up with current project management and planning practices.
- Review existing regional planning workflows to spot improvement opportunities.
- Work with stakeholders to implement better processes and practical solutions.
