Role overview
This opportunity is for a Territory Manager to join the grain origination team in Toowoomba, Queensland, with flexibility to work remotely. The position focuses on building durable partnerships with growers, understanding their needs, and positioning Cargill as the preferred business partner.
The role offers a strong salary package, a performance-linked incentive bonus, a fully maintained vehicle for work use, and additional benefits connected to working with Australian growers and a global organisation.
Purpose of the role
You will be responsible for delivering territory revenue and grain origination targets while creating value for both customers and the business. The role suits a highly motivated self-starter who can influence internal teams and external stakeholders to support buying and selling outcomes that improve profitability.
Key accountabilities
- Build and strengthen relationships with growers, serving as the main link between them and Cargill within the assigned region.
- Identify, develop, and close new sales opportunities, with a growing emphasis on sustainability.
- Represent the business at events that help deepen connections with growers and other industry participants.
- Increase awareness of products and services to generate customer demand.
- Track customer activity, competitor movements, and wider industry developments.
- Gain a strong understanding of each customer’s business, priorities, and operating needs.
- Use effective account management to create opportunities and deliver customer satisfaction that supports long-term business growth.
- Manage customer relationships to support the origination of grain and oilseeds, with the aim of maximising volume through Cargill’s asset network.
Qualifications and experience
The role calls for tertiary education or an equivalent level of practical experience, along with at least 5 years in the grain sector or in agricultural sales and marketing. Success in this position also depends on being self-driven, needing little supervision, working well in a team, and communicating clearly with strong listening and interpersonal abilities. A track record of building long-term relationships and conducting business ethically is essential.
