Role Summary

The organization seeks a proactive Technology Engineer to join the Group IT Technology Chapter. This role involves designing, building, maintaining, and enhancing enterprise technology platforms with a focus on Cloudera CDP, automation, DevOps practices, containerization, and platform operations in demanding, high-availability environments. The successful candidate will work within a matrix team structure, reporting to the VP of the Technology Chapter and be an active member of a platform squad responsible for daily operations, prioritizing the backlog, and delivering technical tasks. The engineer will facilitate onboarding of customers and applications via automation and collaboration with cross-functional teams including product, security, architecture, and agile units.

Core Responsibilities

• Install and maintain Cloudera CDP platforms (version 7.1.9 or above) and associated data services.
• Deliver Tier 2 support for production Cloudera environments focusing on maintenance, security, monitoring, and optimization.
• Troubleshoot and optimize Spark, Hive, and YARN workloads in conjunction with data engineering teams.
• Lead automation initiatives covering platform operations, security compliance, patching, and CI/CD workflows for analytics projects.
• Develop automation scripts and workflows using Shell, Terraform, Groovy, Ansible, and Python.
• Implement and manage container orchestration tools such as Podman, Docker, OpenShift, and Kubernetes.
• Participate in developing product roadmaps, prioritizing platform backlogs, reducing technology stack complexity, and refining cost efficiency.
• Collaborate with a broad range of internal stakeholders across technical and business teams to ensure cohesive delivery.
• Apply Agile and DevOps methodologies to deliver secure, scalable, and dependable services.

Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, Engineering, or equivalent professional experience.
• Minimum of 2 years engineering or operational experience with at least 1 year in platform operations or technology engineering.
• Proven expertise in managing Cloudera CDP platforms including installation, troubleshooting, and performance tuning.
• Strong foundation in infrastructure design, cloud technologies, DevOps, and automation techniques.
• Proficient with Linux operating systems, networking basics, Git version control, and Agile development practices.
• Experience operating in large-scale, complex, enterprise systems with distributed architectures and high transaction volumes.
• Understanding of information security, compliance, risk management, and regulatory standards related to enterprise tech.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to build strong stakeholder relationships.
• Strategic thinker capable of balancing long-term goals with immediate operational needs.
