Job Overview

The Technician role is vital for the smooth daily running of various sectors within the Engineering department. The primary objective involves maintaining the property’s condition and operational efficiency. This includes inspecting and executing repairs as needed to uphold engineering functions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support preventive and corrective maintenance activities on mechanical and electrical services as well as building structures.
  • Conduct routine checks on plant operations to ensure optimal performance.
  • Maintain housekeeping, operational standards, and safety protocols at all times.
  • Contribute to energy-saving initiatives within the hotel premises.
  • Electrical maintenance including servicing electronic motors and performing electrical installations.
  • Plumbing upkeep covering water supply, sewage systems, hot water setups, plumbing fixtures, and water-based fire protection systems.
  • Manage heating systems such as boilers, heaters, and related installations.
  • Maintain ventilation and air-conditioning units, including temperature and humidity controls and related installations.
  • Handle refrigeration systems maintenance for refrigerators, chillers, freezers, ice machines, and associated installations.
  • Carry out general repairs including structural maintenance, handling tools and supplies, painting, setting up exhibits, minor interior/exterior works, and some equipment and furnishing installations.
  • Execute painting and varnishing tasks for room furnishings and building interiors/exteriors as well as event-related carpentry and construction projects.
  • Participate in fire fighting drills and safety exercises.
  • Serve as a member of CERT (Crisis Emergency Response Team) or as a Fire Warden to respond to emergency situations.
  • Assist in general accident and fire prevention measures.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Required Qualifications and Experience

  • Possession of a Nitec certificate in Building Facilities Maintenance, Electrical/Electronics, Air Conditioning Servicing, or Plumbing.
  • At least 3 years of relevant experience within the hospitality industry.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
