Technical Support Specialist

About the Role

As a Technical Support Specialist, you will assist business users in resolving a wide range of IT challenges, primarily related to Windows operating systems, networking, and PC hardware. This position suits individuals passionate about problem-solving and eager to expand their technical expertise while contributing meaningfully to a growing organization.

Responsibilities

• Offer consultation and guidance to clients regarding their computing and network requirements.
• Assist customers in diagnosing and fixing issues involving workstations, servers, and peripheral devices.
• Manage and schedule service tickets, escalating problems when necessary.
• Deliver frontline technical support spanning workstation setups, server management, and network infrastructure oversight.
• Travel locally within the DC Metropolitan area and be available for after-hours support as needed.

Requirements

• Demonstrate honesty and integrity in all professional interactions.
• Possess foundational understanding of TCP/IP networking and DNS protocols.
• Be proficient with Windows 7, Windows 10, and Office365/Outlook environments.
• Have experience handling hardware issues involving desktops and laptops.
• Skilled in troubleshooting software, operating system, and application errors.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Display a committed work ethic and an ability to support company growth.
• Keen interest in learning emerging hardware and software technologies.
• Possess 1 to 2 years of professional experience in computer troubleshooting.
• Prior experience in IT managed services roles is advantageous.

Preferred Certifications

• CompTIA A+ certification
• CompTIA Network+ certification

Additional Information

• Location for the role is Chantilly, VA.
• Salary ranges between $20 and $28 per hour, depending on experience, plus benefits.
• This is a full-time position requiring 40 or more hours per week.
• Immediate start date expected.
